Located in the scenic area of Poseidonia, Corinth, this outdoor space serves as an extension of the reception area for a newly constructed hotel, offering accommodations ranging from luxury villas to simple rooms. The design is focused on creating a seamless connection between the natural environment and the guest experience, utilizing organic materials that complement the breathtaking landscape. Guests are treated to spectacular views of the Corinthian Gulf’s sunset, the Isthmus Canal, and the historic Diolkos, ensuring a serene yet inspiring atmosphere. Rock gardens featuring small lakes and water features dominate the landscape, enhancing the sense of tranquility and creating a harmonious balance with the surrounding environment. The outdoor space not only functions as a welcoming area but also as a place for guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the region.
Designing the outdoor reception area required a deep understanding of the local landscape and how to best incorporate it into the guest experience. The primary focus was on utilizing natural materials such as stone, wood, and water elements to create an organic flow between the hotel and its surroundings. The layout was strategically oriented to offer guests unobstructed views of the sunset over the Corinthian Gulf and the historic landmarks of the Isthmus and Diolkos. Rock gardens with integrated ponds and water features were added to enhance the overall aesthetic and introduce a calming, natural ambiance. Special attention was given to the lighting design to highlight the water elements and the natural textures of the materials used, ensuring that the outdoor space would be just as inviting in the evening as it is during the day. The result is a space that serves as both a functional extension of the reception area and a place of reflection and relaxation for hotel guests.
